I get fed up with making bottom opening cards that just do a Bambi and won’t stand up!  So I’ve come up with this solution, and it works brilliantly!  It flattens nicely to go in the envelope, and you can write your message on the back!

}

This is the size your card would be without the stand.

Concertina fold the stand like this, take the backing off the double sided tape, then keeping the stand pushed down, fold the back over and on to the tape.

This will be the front of your card.

Put double sided tape on the right hand section

If you want the card to open out a bit more, just lengthen your stand measurements, so you could have the 1 cm to attach (you can make this bigger too!! )  then two 4 cm sections.    If your card isn’t long enough, you could make a separate stand and attach it to your finished card.

Make your card more open by lengthening these measurements!

Step 1

To make a bottom stand, you just add 5 cm to one side of your card, and score it as below.

These lines are scored at 1cm, 3cm and 5cm in from the bottom edge.
