mask template

Project and template designed by Sara Sandberg

Step 1

Choose the size mask you want and cut out the template. You can either cut out the eye holes, or leave them in - or add them on top! It’s up to you!

Fold one of the mask pieces along the dotted line, and add your adhesive to the folded tab. Glue this to the front mask - the folded mask is the back piece. You may find it easier to decorate the front mask before adding the back piece.

Step 2

When decorating your mask it’s easy to get carried away and forget it’s got to fit in an envelope! See the templates for a PDF to put under your mask to see your envelope size.

I have cut the eyes out of my mask, and put a solid black mask behind it - this allows me to stick the feathers and die cut pieces to the back of the mask, and it is then hidden from view by the black piece.

I covered the eye holes with glossy accents to highlite them, and sprinkled fine glitter gently over them from high up to get just a light sprinkling.

I used glitter glue to dot patterns round the eyes and to make swirls, and gems to add sparkle.

The diecut swirls are Madera Corner by Memory Box and Fanciful Flourish by Cheery Lynn Designs.
