This fun Mobile Phone Sliding Card will brighten any teenager’s birthday!
I designed this card for my Nicole’s birthday.
First, cut out your Mobile Phone Sliding Card templates; You will notice that the template for the sliding part of the mobile phone has lots of little buttons to cut out.
Decorate the sliding section with the numbers and screen message. It is really important that everything is stuck down well – any loose edges will stop a smooth sliding action. Because of this, I cover my screen message with clear sticky backed plastic. Not only does it help the sliding, it gives the screen a glass effect too.
Decorate the front of the mobile phone. Now fold the back down, and stick the surprise message to the back, making sure it can be seen through the screen when the card is folded. I do this by putting double sided tape to the back of the message, holding it in place against the screen, then folding the back down onto it so that it sticks in place. Again, a bit of sticky backed plastic over it gives it that glassy effect.
Cut two pieces of card 4 cm x 1 cm and fold them in half. Attach double sided tape to them as shown.
Fold your phone cover closed, and make a mark at the bottom of the screen. Open the card up, and underneath that mark make another mark at the centre of the card.
Hold your folded bits of card as shown.
Stick them to the inside of your cover, directly under the mark you made from the screen, and making sure where they meet is at the centre.
Slot the insert onto the card flaps, and spread the flaps out either side of the slit. Put double sided tape round the very edge and seal shut.
You will need the thin 3mm double sided tape for this project.
Now put thin double sided tape down the two side edges of the cover, and seal that shut too. Slide the phone open and shut a few times to loosen it up
Punch a hole through the aerial and use your Kwik-
Mobile Phone Card

Step 2
Among the templates there is a sheet of numbers for you to print out that fits nicely behind those holes. Alternatively, I have put the numbers separately so that instead of cutting the holes, you can punch the numbers out with a circle punch and stick them on as buttons.
