Altered Dominoes

These are very addictive!

Oriental Domino

Step 1

First I splodged Watermelon and Butterscotch alcohol inks on the back of my domino using my homemade alcohol ink applicator. I then swiped the edges with a gold Krylon pen.

Step 2

I then inked my rubber stamp with archival ink.

I find it easier to get the piece of the stamp image I want on my domino if I press the domino onto my stamp - but we are all different! If you prefer stamping onto your domino that’s great too!

Step 3

Now I can see where my image is, I carefully blobbed some Watermelon alcohol ink on the corners.

I also added some Gold Krylon pen to accent parts of the design.

Step 4

Step 5

I put Glossy Accents carefully where I wanted my accents beads to go, and carefully sprinkled them on top.

I then poured Triple Thick Gloss Accent on, and carefully worked it across the domino. The instructions say to brush it on, but I had the feeling that would drag the image and alcohol inks. The glaze is fine done this way, but not hardwearing - a domino for a keyring would need a harder glaze.

While the glaze was still wet I sprinkled some fine glitter over it.
