Tips

Background Cutting

I love having fun spraying and splodging backgrounds - and came up with this useful way to select the best bit of my background and cut it to shape.

I have cut several pieces of acetate to sizes I use regularly. They are slightly smaller than card sizes to allow for matting of the background.

Step 1

After having fun spraying, I hold the acetate piece over the background to find the best part for my project.

Step 2

I then draw round the acetate with a pencil.

Step 3

I then have clear lines to cut with my guillotine or scissors.

Step 4

My background is now ready to use!
