Flip-Flop Card Instructions

Step 1

Project and template designed by Sara Sandberg

Step 2

Step 3

First cut your templates out - I cut an extra sole (the piece with a small slit cut in it) as the card I doodled on wasn’t very thick, and so I stuck two together for thickness. If you are doing this, don’t glue the two pieces together until you have threaded the toe piece through!  See the instructions below.

Note the flip flop strap is longer on the right hand side!

Step 4

Step 5

Step 6

Take the tiny toe piece, and fold one end like the splits as above. Don’t fold the other end yet!

Put a small dab of glue on the top of each tab and glue it to the back of your flip flop strap as shown.

When dry, carefully thread it through the slit on the sole.

Gently fold the two tabs you have threaded through as shown, and glue them down.

If you are using two sole pieces, now is the time to stick them together!

Once dry, take a round pen barrel and carefully pull the straps through to gently curl them.

Carefully turn the straps and stick in place with one blob of glue at the end. It’s best to hold it in place a while to allow the glue to take hold.

Finally, add glue above the score line of your back piece and attach to the front.
