Altered Giant Peg!

I found these giant pegs at The Craft Barn, and asked Hilda, Lottie and Netti from our Design Team to alter them in their own style. I am sure you will agree, the results are just stunning!

The large pegs are a joy to play with.  You can paint or varnish them - or leave the peg plain and just alter the front and back.  Or just the front it you are going to use a fridge magnet for the back or attach it to a message board.

I painted the insides of mine with pastel pink - and stamped them too.

The oriental peg is covered with a piece of paper napkin - just the top layer (the same as the instructions for the apron card).  Once dry I used glossy accents on the cherry blossom flowers and branches to give it depth and texture , it's hard to see in the photos, but it really makes  a difference.  If it is going to be handled a lot, you might want to give it a coat with a gel medium or matt accents or a clear sealant.

How about embellishing it with a little oriental charm, or a piece of thin wire with colour co-ordinated beads?  I used a microscope square slide, using glossy accents to secure and seal the photo to the back of the glass, then repeated the process to adhere it to the peg.
