Firstly, I removed the spring, which was surprisingly simple, using a pair of pliers.  Then I painted it all over with black matte acrylic paint.  When  this was dry, I applied Viva Gold paints, blue, green, mauve and pink, just wiping it on gently with a damp finger.  I also applied Viva Croco Transparent crackle paint in  here and there.

The lovely lady images are by Crafty Individuals and the "glaze" is created by coating the image with Versamark ink, applying a coating of UTEE, followed by a second coat whilst the first layer is still hot.  The word "Beauty" in the bookplate is coated in the same way.

The swirls were cut from metal using a Marianne die set  and coloured with Viva paints. The spring was coloured with alcohol inks before re-assembling.

The "danglies" were made using some chain from a broken necklace and  the hanging "jewels" are from my ever-growing collection of broken/unwanted costume jewellery from various teenagers, boot fairs, charity shops etc!!!  The flower "a la Lin Brown" is made with metal  using Paper Artsy dies and coloured with Alcohol inks.
